Nigeria shooting: Big news is coming out from a village in north-central Nigeria. Here gunmen killed at least 50 people in two attacks. This information has been given by the officials. Ruben Bako, head of Otukpo’s local government, said gunmen killed 47 people in the village of Umogidi in Benue state on Wednesday. A day before, three other people were killed at the same place.
Confirming the attack, the Benue State Police and Eneni Savuis said that the attackers had set fire to a market. However, Savuis reported that eight people, including a police officer, were killed in the attack. Officials said that the motive of the attack is not yet known. However, both attacks are suspected to be linked to each other. No organization has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
Officials said they suspected that local herdsmen carried out the attacks, as they have previously clashed with farmers over land disputes in north-central Nigeria.
